Presidents of Government joins threaten

The chairman of the parish together threaten resign or withdraw social support if the government does not include a sum "essential" for the salaries of mayors in the State Budget for 2009.

The mayors complain of being missing in the budget of a state party - usually incorporated into the document - which operated the salaries for elected representatives of large or very large parishes.

The National Association of Parishes (ANAFRE) argues that without pay, these mayors can not survive and therefore can not hold office.

The President Armando Vieira hopes "common sense" by the government.

The council's general ANAFRE is held this Saturday to discuss the budget of state.
