Civil Government wants more money for road awareness

The contracting of funds for humanitarian associations of firefighters might voluntary, next year, be extended to actions aimed at reducing the road accidents. This is at least the desire of the civil governor of Coimbra, demonstrated yesterday during the signing of protocols for the delivery of subsidies for recompletamento of personal protective equipment. Henrique Fernandes believes that the contratulização with the bodies of firefighters should not be the 'classic' of equipment to combat fires, because the level of awareness road there is still much work to do.
"Admittedly, next year, do with the bodies of firefighters, shares of contracts for the development of acts of awareness among the schools, the adults, the drivers', he said, marked presence at the ceremony where representatives of all associations of firefighters the district.
Alongside this will clearly demonstrated, which Henrique Fernandes yesterday was transferring money, a total of 33 thousand euros for the associations of firefighters who received the district, each had around 1600 euros for recompletamento of personal protective equipment. A well below the amount transferred in 2007 - which amounted to 167,519 euros - but aimed at completing the process begun last year. Moreover, the money allocated to Civil Government by the Ministry of Interior had this year to be among the tripartite humanitarian associations of firefighters, road safety and security. On the other hand, was keen to clarify the civil governor, were given new cars on fire in Chaman, Brasfemes, Burton, Mira and Pampilhosa da Serra, without any cost to the corporations.
Still, the ceremony of yesterday had "special meaning" because, said Henrique Fernandes, was given "one more step in the ability and readiness shown that in response to forest fires and other emergency situations. Highlighted by the way, increasing the capacity of response shown by corporations faced with an emergency situation, measured by time of arrival at the fire. "In terms of national average around 11 minutes. In the district was even lower, 'said, assuring that the response "not based on aircraft and teams helitransportadas', but' the firefighters in teams to permanent and the first intervention".
